It's Still Spring on Coast

We've been so lucky to have had a few days of sunshine thrown into the usual forecast of straight rain. It's been frosty at night but the days have been warm in the sun, a little cool in the shade though. Niall has been enjoying the time outside, running around all over the fields near our house while we're out on our walks...that's my attempt to tire him out!!!! He's a going concern from the time he wakes up til the time he goes to bed at 7pm, except for his nap in the morning. But he's so much fun...

Getting Older and Cuter

Niall is nearly 16 months old now and is into everthing. He's discovered our computer and is fascinated with the keyboard and mouse already. He's running all over at full speed and starting to say a few words...Mama, Dada, hot and up, I think we've got a gifted toddler on our hands!!!

Just Life...

Here are a few of the latest pics of Niall. One of his favorite things to do now is visiting with his Great Grandma Raffle...because he has a little chair and a little table and she lets him have his own cookies in a bowl. Often turns out to be a little messy but hey! He's almost 15 months old now and is always on the move, he's got one speed which is running.

Summer Days ~ August at the Cabin

The end of another amazing summer has come all too quickly. Clint is heading back to school and I will be back at the hospital at the end of September...back to the real world I guess. We spent 37 nights at the cabin this summer, with 27 of them being in a row, our longest stint since we bought it! Once again, some unforgettable memories...long sunny days spent at Creepy Island with friends, whales swimming under our boat, fish being caught with Niall, his first trip to Bamfield.

He's ONE!

Well, our baby is now 1! Not too sure where that year went to. We celebrated in typical Extension style with a BBQ and beers in the yard with family and friends. Niall and Auntie Becca share a birthday, so it was an extra special day. Niall enjoyed his cake although was not really into making a huge mess, I think he was actually afraid of the cake. Thanks to everyone for coming...especially Great Grandma Hayes and Auntie Laurie who made the trip from Oliver to celebrate this special day! Once again Niall had three of his Great Grandma's there to give him lots of kisses and birthday wishes.

Camping ~ Niall's First Time!

The end of July brought us home from the west coast and took us to the northeastern coast of Vancouver Island. We spent four days at Atluck Lake...in the rain, then moved on to Eve River to do some flyfishing for pink salmon. Niall was a champ and quickly mastered camping life...it was Mommy and Daddy who had a bit of adjusting to do. Living in 8 square feet is a little challenging with a one year old! A lot less liquor was consumed on our part, which is a good thing I guess!

Cabin Life

Niall, Clint and I were able to spend most of July out on the coast. 26 days in a row at Haggard's Cove! Our nearest amenities being in Bamfield, a 20 minute boat ride away in calm weather...life is always exciting out there. Canada Day Long weekend marked the end of an era for our dogs, it was the last time that they spent together as four. Otis passed away two days after the weekend, Diesel will miss him dearly. Thanks to guests our supply of food and beverages never seemed to dwindle! Clint's sister, husband and Niall's two cousins made it out, along with Grandma and Papa O'Hara for a couple of days of fishing and relaxing. Clint and Danny helped the Gannon's and Worden's put a new roof on their cabin, all accomplished without any rain! Clint got a few days of fishing in, but is waiting until August for the big Springs to arrive.
